The Stuck In The Doorway Project is a digital archive of refugees in Greece. With over 50 hours of testimonies from 75 people involved in this refugee crisis, the project puts faces to the numbers and introduces us to people via their stories, hopes and dreams as they create new lives for themselves. As well as refugees from Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran and Africa, we document teachers, volunteers, social workers government officials and Greek citizens.
The project will produce a feature length documentary, museum installations, and video profiles of individuals.
The project began with three people and a shared interest, moved to principal photography throughout Greece in May and June of 2017, and is now in post-production. The co-producers have been presenting material from the archive at a wide variety of venues and events starting in the summer.
Until now, we have been entirely self-funded. Michel and Bill paid for air travel, travel expenses in Greece, as well as for equipment purchases. Zaphiris contributed his car and home in Athens and our accommodations outside Athens were donated by Greeks aligned with our mission. Any contributions will be most appreciated and be used for post-production and set aside for follow-up shooting as our refugees settle into their new homes. We three producers will continue to work without pay.
